Reviews of Piccolino Virginia Water
"Would say that my experience in Piccolino’s was a memorable one. Let’s start off with my entrance, unfortunately I didn’t have the most welcoming hello upon entering which left me a little stunned. An older gentleman with glasses behind a computer looked me up and down and asked many questions - more than the people in front of me even though we had a booking. Was escorted to the table which was in the outside area in the sofa seats. The sofas were a little awkward to settle in to but luckily they had a number of cushions for back support. One more thing about these seats is that they have an open part over your head, it was drizzling that day and I did get rained on slightly which wasn’t super. Let’s get to the service - I would probably give this 1* in itself. It took a long time after we ordered to get our food. The wait staff weren’t friendly, more with a look of “we have to be here”. I would like to add that I visited on a Saturday lunch service, which definitely was not a busy period for them with many empty tables and many members of wait staff working. In terms of food, this is really where Piccolinos shines. The food was WONDERFUL. I had the rigatoni which was made perfectly al dente. I tried my friends carbonara which was so authentic. The mozzarella was devine. Tiramisu for dessert, although I couldn’t finish it, was gorgeous. Drinks were not the best and took a long time to come too.. All in all I would visit again for the food. I hope the management can take some feedback on the service of the team members in general and would love see this improved on my next visit."
"The food and service here was brilliant. Enjoyed calamari for starters, then went for the Sirloin steak for mains, and lemon cake with ice cream for dessert. The ice cream in particular was of the highest quality! Not the cheapest of places, but something different."
"Really good Italian restaurant. Nice drinks and good wine list. Prices are reasonable. Great service by Amelia and her friends. The only thing that I didn’t like was linguine pasta inside of my spaghetti plate."
"Such a lovely place, amazing fresh and tasty food, beautiful atmosphere and made it so easy with the kids. Brought their food out first so they were busy. Bought a little celebration dessert out for my husband's birthday. Would definitely recommend. Prices higher than average but we had such a good time, made it worth it."
"Amazing restaurant, we sat in the terrace which is sheltered to prevent noise from the road as well as keep the wind out. The retractable roof gives the feeling of eating outside. The staff here were all brilliant and very attentive and friendly, the cocktails were all delicious and the food was excellent! Highly recommend!"
