Reviews of Kopitiam
"Hidden away from view a little, this Malaysian restaurant is well worth searching for. Me and my friend had an amazing meal, the Malaysian coffee is excellent too. Not many veggie options but they were able to cater to me. Alot of dishes have shellfish so inform the restaurant in advance of allergies. Definitely worth a visit. 4.5"
"Most flavoursome and authentic Malaysian cuisine, family run based in the Jewellery Quarter and a great addition to the scene, those simply after more classical Chinese dishes will also be tastefully served. There is a multi-storey car park nearby with plenty of on street parking, free on Sunday and Bank Holidays. Online booking recommended for busy days and weekends."
"No frills, just tasty and authentic Malaysian food. Every single drink ands food item was delicious, so much so that there was regret in not having enough room for dessert. The place is part of living quarters for the family that runs it, so sometimes you will be distracted by the sounds of kids and their toys."
"A hidden gem in Birmingham serving good food with good service. We had a reservation and upon arrival, was swiftly seated within minutes. Menus were served and orders placed soon after. The main food came nice and piping hot with generous portions (although it did take a while to come - at least half hour). One thing I appreciated was that the fried dishes weren't (too) oily. The desserts - absolutely wowed me and I have been back once more just to order them. The only 'issue' was that we were served the desserts within 10minutes of ordering - before the mains! This meant we had to eat it first since it was shaved ice, and was starting to melt. We had thought it was obvious that desserts would be served after, but it's something we would keep in mind next time we visit - order after the mains are finished, or let the server know when ordering to serve after mains. The pricing is very good, especially again for the portion size (we actually had to take some home with us). Our meal came up to under £40 for the three of us (rounded to give a tip as well). I would definitely recommend for some tasty Malaysian food."
