"This was our first time in Stratford and being typical Indians, me and my partner were in search of some desi (home food). We were super hungry and when we reached the place we realised this was only take away as yet, however seeing how hungry we were and knowing that we stayed in airbnb the management not only served us food thier but thier hospitality was just awesome. Also food quality and quantity both were superb. Highly recommend this place if you love desi food.❤️"
"Excellent customer service: I had ordered a punjabi samosa and paneer makhani for dinner. The punjabi samosa was one of the best I have eaten, however the paneer makhani was too sweet and seemed like tomato puree. I called My Spice and a very kind gentleman named Reza explained to me that paneer makhani is very mild and another sabzi will be best for my desi tastebuds. He offered to send me a replacement with no additional cost. Thank you for listening to your customers reviews @MySpiceStratford. Looking forward to having the replacement dish: Bindhi Bhaji"
"Have just moved to the area and have now found my go-to Indian takeaway. Wasn’t exactly how I like it, but it was absolutely charming & delicious, would highly recommend and will be ordering again. Bombay alloo: - incredible flavour, delicious! The spices used… very well balanced. Loved it. - texture of the inside of the potatoes was great, nicely cooked - moist but fluffy - but, for my own personal preference, I would have preferred the potatoes to have been peeled. I know the skin is said to be more nutritious, but it adds an unexpected waxy /chewy texture - the pot could also have been a little fuller, I’d say it was about 75% full Pilau rice (aka Saffron Biryani Rice, learnt something new!) - piping hot, super fresh - lovely flavour & texture - a little longer and fatter grain of rice than I’ve experienced from Indian takeaways, but was very pleasant - also, liked how the rice didn’t all clump together in the pot - and the pot was very full, decent size, was great Coconut chicken tikka masala: - was the deep shade of red you expect from a decent masala - was absolutely delicious - chicken was moist and tender, whilst full of flavour. Could tell that it had been prepared / cooked fresh. Loved the chicken!!! - there was a decent amount of chicken. And the pieces were on the smaller to medium size. I wouldn’t exactly say it was generous, especially if like me you expect two meals out of it (like with all other takeaways…), but it could be ‘just enough’ if you’re more disciplined than me. - the sauce wasn’t quite as thick as I’m used to (think other places use a type of blended coconut maybe instead of coconut milk perhaps?) but to be fair, it did make it feel lighter and healthier - whilst not 100% what I was expecting, I would definitely order this again. I didn’t feel sluggish or lathergic after eating an Indian; this never happens! And the flavours, the textures…. Very nice. Good job overall. - downside was that the menu is a little confusing. There are two chicken tikka masalas on the menu; one is coconut and the other is punjabi. I wasn’t sure which one I wanted (I naively didn’t know there was more than one type), but I called them to ask. Turns out the Punjabi one is a little spicier. The coconut one, understandably, a little milder and sweeter (perhaps more typical of a chicken tikka masala found in the U.K.?) - no issue with portion/size, was as you’d expect Peshwari naan: - Devine. Hot, large, moist, soft. Perfect. - no issue with the size of the pot, was as you’d expect Onion Bhaji: - crispy outside, soft inside. Perfect - flavour balance was spot on - onions were interesting; nice and long strands which made for a messy but very enjoyable eat! - there are four in a pot. - they are a little on the smaller side vs other places. But they are a good size to fit in the pots of sauce I guess. Popadoms & mango chutney: - the chutney was awesome!!! So light, fresh but still thick and full of flavour. It actually tasted like mango, and not like a sugary jam concoction. I wish they sold this in jars! - the normal popadoms we’re awesome. Decent size. They were very fresh. Great crisp to them. Not at all stale or chewy. Couldn’t have asked for better - but they were impossible to find on the website / just eat thing, so had to call up for them - they came in a deal; two normal popadoms, one spicy popadom and a mango chutney. - was lovely to be able to try the spicy popadom, but it wasn’t my cup of tea Other feedback: - customer service was excellent. The guy I spoke to on the phone, and the delivery guy, both super sweet and caring! - timing was impeccable. I ordered on New Year’s Eve. And it came super quick. Was very impressed! - whilst above I find minor developmental feedback in some portion sizing elements, it was still really great value for money. Especially when the quality is so good. - I predict this place will be super popular. My only hope is that they can sustain these standards; they’ve set the bar high. - driver told me they opened 6 weeks ago. Rather impressed - see you soon!"
"Great food - Good prices - Outstanding service Loved the Mutton Biryani. It was fresh, delicious, and very tasty. Will go again definitely. Highly recommended."
