"One of the most exquisite restaurant visits I had in a long time. We had such an accommodating service with excellent recommendations. Went for a classic order of chicken curry and Mango Lassi. It was the best freshest and thickest Mango Lassi I last had in Berlin this good. Good times with great food. Will be coming back for sure."
"NOT RECOMMENDED. Worst quality. PLEASE AVOID. We have ordered Mutter Paneer: the paneer was very hard like Natural rubber(gummy). It was worst Plain rice Mango lassi: it’s not worth the price Special fried rice: Waste of money - Salt overloaded. Garlic Naan: I donot know why the name is given as it is a plain naan. Apart from the worst food quality, the service us very bad - as the waiter asked us to change seats frequently changing us upstairs and downstairs twice. Although we did what he told, he is but worried about our race and country and continues to speak on that stuff with us. The plates which were served for us was not cleaned well and contained the stains of previous clients food and I have to ask for them to change. And the waiter donot have patience until we eat, he asked several times in 30 - 40 min of time span if I have finished and wanted to remove my plates. All clients sitting beside us were having same issues with them. So, donot choose this as back up plan too. Your pounds will go in vain."
"While it’s not fancy, it’s amazing. My wife & I used to come here back in the 90’s because it was the best Indian cuisine we’ve had outside of India & it still is. It’s unpretentious but amazing in quality. If you’re a fan of Indian cuisine don’t miss this place."
"AVOID THIS PLACE! Food was bland, service was terrible. We waited over 30 mins for drinks and papadum and the papadum didn’t even come, it was actually given to someone else. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, we saw customers who came in after us, were getting their food so we complained! We finally got our food and it was not worth the wait! The only good bits were the duck starter, onions and the cucumber. I would not dare to serve this food to homeless people. We did not finish the meal. Another group asked us how the food was, we told them it’s not good authentic Indian food and they too did not finish their food!"
"Please avoid dining at the restaurant! They should be ashamed of calling this strand tandoori, they should change the name to Prison Tandoori. That the level of type of food they actually serve. The worse experience I had in UK. I don't even know where to start. We got our drinks quickly and order our food along with the Papadam. Literally we were starving and we had to wait almost 45 min and even then nothing was ready. For papadam take 45 minutes. Make no sense at all!! In the end they didn't actually give us the papadam and gave us the mains. We orders 2 chicken curry, 4 garlic naan, 2 chicken Tandoori briyani and for starters we order a duck grilled with onions. If I was a lawyer I would have sued the place of how terrible the food and experience was. Chicken curry was okay, chicken Tandoori briyani it was the worse ( it's like they just added rice on top of Tandoori and literally you can't taste nothing in your mouth), only good thing was the duck grilled and that was decent. If I had to give the best meal was the garlic naan and the onions from the duck grilled. The food was that bad the next table next to us asked us how was the experience and we said the worse food and even they didn't like the food and couldn't even finish the meal. I'm a big curry fan but this felt like punishment as if I have committed big crime and getting torture by food! I actually don't know what Prison food is like but surely prison food is still better than this. Anything you eat there is no sense of taste in mouth and for the first time we didn't even finish the food and just left!! For the price we have paid I would never ever in my life recommend this to anyone. Even if every restaurant in the world will close down and this was the only restaurant was open I will still put my hand down will never go back to the prison sorry restaurant big typo!! Another let down from an Indian restaurant in central. There is no spice to any food so if you are looking for a bit of curry with some flavour and spice then definitely look other direction."
