Reviews of JOJO's Kitchen (Ethiopian Restaurant)
"My boyfriend and I eat at least 1 time every two weeks here. As an Ethiopian I can say that this place is very authentic and is truly a delicious restaurant. They are very consistent when it comes to their food, everything is always very fresh!! Their awaze tibs, kikil and misir are the best you will find in London!! 100% recommend for anyone wanting to try."
"JOJO’s kitchen is the restaurant to go, taste and enjoy Ethiopian cuisine in London. If you haven’t tried Ethiopian food yet, head to this restaurant and you will definitely enjoy a delicious meal. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They suggested us which dish to try. We went for Jojo’s special and it was delicious. They serve it in a big plate to share, with beer. Bear in mind it is eaten with the hands…so wash your hands and enjoy! A hidden gem that we will try again!"
"The service was lovely and the menu had a wide range of meats. I didn't particularly like the injera (sour fermented pancake like flatbread) as it was too sour and caused me stomach issues."
"Come here after reading good review. However, a bit disappointed with the service . Pros: Food in general are tasty. But not sure why the beans are a bit burn. Cons: Not that much variety. Many food repeated itself (please see the photos). As we don't eat beef, we ask to have more mutton instead. Instead, we are given rice. Come on, how can one replace beef with rice? In addition, Injera was given to us and charged accordingly without asking us do we want extra Injera (Fermented flatbread). There is only one waitress running around. We have to wait at least 20-30 minutes more for our coffee after indicating we are ready for coffee. That is after multiple request. Would I come back? Not sure. Despite the food is ok, we are not happy with the lack of transparency in pricing. and the replacement of beef with rice and the super slow serving of coffee and the lack of variety in our serving."
"Everything about this restaurant was genuinely fantastic, one of the best I've been to. Food: We went with a vegetarian so only had those dishes and there was more than enough choice. Every dish in the vegetarian mixed platter complimented each other and was really flavourful. We also had a lovely chickpea dish (Tagabino) which was beautifully presented and a stand-out. Portion sizes were excellent all round. Drinks: Great Ethiopian beer which is very reasonably priced. We finished the meal with a coffee ceremony which included incense, having it roasted in front of us and served with popcorn (which worked very well). Excellent service and authentic décor - we stayed nearly 3 hours and would highly recommend, a real hidden gem!"
