"Visited the restaurant when a coworker found this on a “best fish and chips in London” list. Was underwhelming. Fish was cooked very well. Meat was tender and flaky and the batter was light and crispy. However, it was very under seasoned. Chips were okay, and the tartar was pretty good. Service was slow and not very attentive. Took over 10 mins to be served a drink when we first arrived before the lunch rush. I expected more for the price of the menu."
"I am from Spain and I miss good fish in London. The fish was not bad, but neither good, so so. The place smells to fried snacks. We ordered steamed fish. It seems fish and chips is better, but we did not tried it. Price was good taking into account the location."
"Great fish place with super fresh fish served separately with chips. The outside seating is along a small quiet lane."
"Enjoy a big fish and chips at the golden hind. They’ve been serving for more than a hundred years. You can feel the experience they have in every single bite of your crispy fish (I had a haddock). It’s clearly worth the price 14.5£ even though I would have appreciated French fries to be included (rather than 2.9£) especially they were far from being exceptional. The mozzarella sticks were ok for appetizer. The fish was nicely and lightly crisply coated. Drinks were a little bit over priced. The staff is very kind and welcoming. I would recommend just to have a fish and other side than French fries."
"This place is a very classic British fish and chips. The service was great, always attentive and ready to serve. The food came out quickly and we all ordered the cod which was delicious. The portion size is a bit big but who can complain about that. All in all a great experience and very friendly."
