"I went here for a birthday dinner with my girlfriend. They were serving a Christmas themed tasting menu and we went for the 8 course option without the wine pairing. First of all I have to say that the service was fantastic, very swift, kind and attentive. The food was also very good and we definitely enjoyed it. However, given the price we had overall higher expectations. It was a very enjoyable experience but I am not sure we would come back."
"Had a wonderful meal here tonight. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that the main course in the 5-course menu varies massively from person to person - one of us had an incredibly tough piece of meat…very much inedible. Plus the dessert was pretty average…and my wife’s whole opinion of the restaurant was couloirs by this…she’d only give it 3 stars. Everything else was great though…although the food lacks subtlety, the flavours and textures are still great and overall we had an excellent evening. The restaurant is quite small but with a great ambience to it and the service was very friendly and efficient."
"What a lovely dinner! I tried the vegetarian tasting menu and WOW! I loved every single dish, original combination of flavours and textures. My favourite was the asparagus with grapefruit hollandise and the whisky cream for dessert.. banging! Definitely recommended and I will for sure visit again! Note: I am addicted to chef Cochran Scotch Bonnet Jam- I eat 1 jar a week by myself, it is the best thing ever! Don’t forget to bring one home with you!"
"It’s an experience. Something completely different than any other dinner. We had a few small (and complex I'd say) dishes. The bread they serve at the beginning it’s delicious. Then we went with the 5 course taster. Most of them were very tasteful and it’s good to try something new and different. But I don’t know if I’d come back. The attention was great. The waitress was called Izzy and she was absolutely kind and nice."
"Booked this as a Christmas present for the partner in Nov/December - 8course tasting menu with wine pairing for 4 of them. We very much enjoyed the experience, wonderful mixture of tastes and textures. The chef(s) did well bringing out the wonderful flavours of the ingredients, not over seasoned, if any seasoning were used they put just enough to complement rather than overwhelm. Interesting and quirky decor, staff were lovely and friendly and introduced each dish and wine very well. I think all was good but felt the seating were not designed for the slightly shorter population, I’m shortish but not below average. Likely to return to try Sunday Roast that some other reviewers have been commenting on."
