"Great pie & mash went for the first time on Saturday what a great place very modern art work etc owners are so friendly and welcoming and most of all the pie n mash was divine definitely going again soon. Tony & boo"
"Pie and mash come to Borehamwood. For some anyway! I was rather looking forward to tucking in, to vegetarian or vegan pie and mash with liquor (it doesn't do to be snobby about food until one tries it)! We first asked about the pies (as the vegetarian and vegan ones are more expensive). It was suggested that we think about we what and she could explain, which she did well enough. It's because they are more effort to make it and the vegan one sometimes has to be made as one offs. Very reasonable answer. However, after waiting 7 minutes once we then had only other person in front of us and three members of staff serving, a new customer came in and they were served before us. I don't know if this was an oversight by busy staff, or confusion that a woman that has a talking teddy bear might actually want to eat! Even mad teddy bear mummy's like mine, eat! As a result Mummy got the huff and we didn't stay. It's bad enough in pubs when men get served before women that were waiting before them. So we didn't eat here. We cannot comment about how the grub tasted. The grub might even be really nice (as far as pie and mash shops go [oops, snobbery slipping in there]) but the liquor looked a little limp and the sunken pies a little sullen and sorry for themselves. No jellied eels, like one gets in the East End pie and mash shops. A definite reason to lower the score there too! An improvement, professional conductwise, would be that when someone has either not yet decided or has asked about the pies but hasn't said that they haven't decided, don't assume 7 minutes later that they still have not decided. Instead of serving someone else that has just walked through the door 7 mins later, ask the person already in the queue if they are ready to order. Not rocket science is it!"
"The food is traditional however the shop is really trendy and modern which is really nice and different to your traditional green tiled pie and mash shop! Love it! Food is 10/10 and staff are so friendly! I really hope this shop does well in honour of Chloe! X"
"Amazing pie and mash! Liquor was just right and not too vinegary like other places that pretend to do real pie and mash! I also had the salt beef bagel, well it would be rude not to try! And it really was lovely and literally melted in the mouth.. I for one cannot fault the service or food here, and will be returning very soon!"
"I can’t believe how amazing the food was. The lovely staff were so welcoming and really don’t understand some of these reviews. The best pie I’ve ever had and prices are so reasonable 5.50 for a pie and mash covered in liquor what more could you ask for. I will definitely be returning for more"
