Reviews of Toby Carvery Aigburth
"Nice pub. It was pretty busy for a Sunday too. The carvery was delicious! I had the lamb and the Turkey with my roast and the Yorkshire puddings were absolutely massive. The service was quick and easy and the prices are quite cheap when it comes to the food. Bit awkward if you're looking for a disabled parking spot. I think the two that are there belong to the hotel next door."
"Came here for some light lunch, ended up having a carvery as no other option, we wasn't disappointed! Every carvery I have been to, never offer Lamb so I was delighted to see it there. The food was Great, lots to choose and tasted lovely! Service was very good too, all waitresses were friendly, nice atmosphere, very packed which is always a good sign."
"Service was awful, we hadn’t been before so didn’t know how it worked or what you did. No one told us to go on up or what to do. My sister and I wanted the two course carvery but sat for 45 minutes after we finished eating our main and no one came to lift our plates so we ended up leaving and only having one course. They really missed out on money. Was only one waitress about who was friendly but also loved to say bad things about the place. She never came over and asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks or anything. 4 people came in 10 minutes after us and were told that there was no ham or turkey and more wouldn’t be ready for another 45 minutes so there was only pork and beef available. Meat was dry, you could tell the food wasn’t fresh and had been sitting ages. There was barely any gravy left and what was left was stone cold. Not a very wide selection of sides either. I have heard such great things about Toby Carvery but I definitely wouldn’t rush back."
"Could not have done more for us. Arrived when they were incredibly busy with a pair of hungry 11yr olds after we were let down by another nearby carvery. Managed to find us a table for 3, full carvery for all of us and desserts with only a few minutes wait. Thank you. Kids were very happy (aside from one accidentally getting gravy on the ear of her toy rabbit)"
"This Toby Carvery was a large venue comprising large seating area for pub drinking and a separate restaurant area. Nice open spaces not, too busy on the Saturday afternoon when I was here. A nice touch was the 2 open fires makings it a warm friendly atmosphere. Staff were pleasant and engaging, all wearing the company uniform looking smart and professional. On this occasion I orderd Loaded roast potatoes and Southern Fried Chicken Strips. Turkey Sandwich with Gravey, Plum crumble with custard. Most of the food was to OK standard, chicken strips were more chicken nugget size and over cooked. Had the Breakfast the following morning, wow... What a feast, £5.50 and you can keep going back, how is this place not full to the brim with people at this price? Sunday carvery gets very busy according to the taxi diver who dropped us off, he takes lots of people and they ring him back as they can't get in because it's too full, he recommends you pre book the Sunday Carvery. Car Park on site with plenty of spaces available. If this review was informative enough for you give it a thumbs up for others."
