"Staff Badly let down by the management 2 staff on duty and trying to do everything, one kept going upstairs to ask for help but nothing, bar empty with no one serving food took an age customers leaving due to lack of service. See pictures and note the time on the clock and the tray of drinks on the bar. Staff is excellent and tried hard, but management should have helped or closed. Food when we got it was very good but a little colder that it should have been, I guessed it had been standing waiting to be served to us."
"We booked a table at the Prince of Wales pub knowing that we would be hungry and wanting to relax, after a long morning and early afternoon at Claremont, National Trust. Five adults, two teenagers, two children and a dog. We all piled into the pub earlier than I table was booked. We were invited to have a drink at the bar and sit in the bar area until our table was ready, which we happily did. Once our table was ready, we were shown where it was. My youngest daughter is coeliac, therefore making sure they knew this was essential. We asked for a gluten free menu, we were advised to look at the menu online, as it was up to date. We had starters, mains and desserts. The ordered starters came out and were loved by all who had one. Lots of flavour and beautifully displayed in the plates/boards. When the mains came out, initially, my coeliac daughter was handed a camembert board with gluten bread and pastry, when the manager over heard our discussion with our waitress about our daughter not being able to have the board, she took it away and ensured that a new board was made up for her with gluten free bread. The chef came out, himself, to had the new dish to my daughter. For dessert, or 4 of us managed that. A sticky toffee pudding, two salty caramel sundaes and a Gluten free cheesecake....yes, not brownie, fruit salad or ice cream....cheesecake!!!! She loved it!! We brought our dog in after eating, we went to the dog station and got her some water and some treats. We could have made her at home with beds and blankets. What a great touch!! We then all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were really well looked after by the wonderful manager and her team, huge smiles and conversation. Thank you for having us."
"We visited today, we asked for a table out of the way as we’ve two large dogs who love to take up space. Anna was very accommodating and gave us a great table, she’s a very friendly host. Suki served us and was very friendly and helpful, all the staff were lovely. The pub is very dog friendly, the have beds, a water station and treats for them. The food was lovely. Will definitely come back again - thank you team!"
"A very enjoyable meal. It’s been a while since visiting since moving further away however we were not disappointed by returning. The menu offered good options, especially for the vegan and vegetarians in the group. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food did take a while to come out in all honesty however did not detract from the enjoyment of the afternoon."
"Just passing today but we tried our luck for lunch, it was very busy but luckily we got a table. Had a huge Sunday lunch which was very reasonably priced, it's a lovely pub and surroundings. Our server Todd was great & couldn't do enough for us. Another pub we'll definitely be coming back to."
