"The food was very good and worthy of 5 stars but the less than average service drags it down. No real greeting on arrival, we weren’t shown to our table and given menus, instead our table was pointed out to us from a distance. Waited 10 minutes for a server to ask if we wanted drinks. The drinks took another 6 or 7 minutes to arrive and they arrived separately. At no point during the meal did anyone ask if the food was ok and we had to find someone to get fresh drinks as our glasses sat empty for 7 or 8 minutes. We got the bill and after waiting sometime, we ended up going to the bar to pay. Again, no one asked if we enjoyed the meal. The server just said ‘tap here’ referring to the card machine and we left. I had booked the table 3 weeks in advance, yet we felt like we were an inconvenience to a busy restaurant. The main reason I’m so frustrated is that the restaurant had the audacity to add 10% service charge to the bill. It’s a real shame because the chefs produce excellent food but the service leaves a bad taste!"
