"Really terrible experience… again! I gave this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but I waited one hour for delivery only to be told that the food hadn’t been sent with the delivery driver and we were welcome to come and collect it instead! When I questioned this I was given a tonne of excuses, none of which made sense, no discount was offered for the inconvenience caused and the person at the other end of the phone hung up on me. Needless to say, this restaurant will not be getting a third chance and I will not be recommending them to anyone else!"
"Amazing food. Very polite customer service. All the food we ordered was perfect no mistakes with the food and tasty we all loved all the food we ordered. Quick delivery all the food was still hot and nothing was cold so just everything was perfect."
"Owner argued the naan wasn't burnt but clearly was, all he had to say was ill delete your number off the system...... curry was full of sauce no veg at all. Weirdest pilal rice ive ever seen.. yellow? So over priced ! Never order from here if you know what's good for you. Very poor!!!!"
"Disgusting place with rude owner with a bad attitude and rude staff! They know nothing about quality food cant even cook!?Rubbish Curries, Horrible Food! Absolutely dire, awful! Food not even cooked properly and my grandson's meat in his curry wasn't even cooked through! Greasy oily, unhygienic found hairs in my curry! Food absolutely Disgusting. Dirty Dingy place! We both felt very ill after eating here! Avoid this place unless you want to end up in hospital with Food poisoning. Rubbish place, Don't eat here!!! AVOID!!!"
"I'm sorry to say our first (and last) experience with The Clove was last Saturday when we ordered to collect and were told it would be 45 minutes, which we thought was perhaps a good sign because they were busy at 6.45pm. We arrived on time and were told they were running late and hadn't started preparing our food yet, sorry but would we wait. It took 15 minutes or so to cook and we were charged 25% more than the menu showed which I'd picked up just a week earlier. When challenged the owner said the menu was 3 years old and they hadn't had any printed because of Covid. We got home and the naan bread was burned on one side, the onion bhajis were so tough we had to break into them with really sharp knives (I think they'd stood a long time under heat lamps), the salad supplied with the bhajis was about a quarter of a tomato, 4 pieces of cucumber and a load of raw onion. There was more sauce than I've ever had in a curry dish before although I'm not a big meat eater so that wasn't too bad for me - I did throw half of it away though. We'd hoped it would be a good experience because we recently moved home and it's our closest Indian takeaway but if this is typical of the food and service we won't be returning. I think we could dine in locally for the same cost and better food."
