"Seemed quiet on a Saturday afternoon in February. Very friendly - they changed the TV channel for us. Dog was welcome, plenty of water bowls. Food was very good. Only a few veggie options, but I really appreciated a good home made bean burger, so much better than the pretend meat that many places offer these days. The chef was genuinely interested in whether we had enjoyed our meal, which is a good sign. Well kept beer - I had a nice pint of Landlord."
"Good food (pizza and the fish and chips) Good drinks too Heineken 0.0 on tap which is a nice touch too. Very nice staff also."
"Absolutely delicious food, with a huge choice of gluten free options. Really slow service though, but it's a lovely pub to sit and socialise in while you wait."
"So a fourth pub/restaurant visited in this area of Sheffield, the Three Merry Lads. Unfortunately it was a quiet Monday early evening but the food was good and tge service was okay with good knowledge about the place and the ability to stay there in your own camper van, very handy. They have a good range of liquid refreshments being in the small group of venues which includes the Norfolk Arms. The venue is very friendly to those that are walking dogs or have just spent the day getting boots muddy, another very handy thing. The place is very nicely decorated for Xmas and hand two log fires blazing away, like the Norfolk, superb. All said and done a visit here is definitely very worthwhile especially on a cold night in November."
"Called in for Sunday lunch after an autumn walk, really fancied something warming and wholesome. There were 5 of us and we hadn’t booked so was pleasantly surprised they seated us straight away. A lovely touch were the towels by the door for my dogs muddy paws, but slightly pointless because my boots were just as muddy? Anyway, the 5 of us ordered Sunday lunch which was served pretty quickly. We were given 1 bowl of veg between 2 and another of the same sized bowls of veg between 3… and can you really say that Sunday lunch is served with roasted parsnips if you’re only given one piece of roads parsnip? My honest opinion was that they were trying to save money whilst maintaining that I pay £15. I’m not saying it was horrible - I ate it all - there just wasn’t that much. Perhaps a tactical move to have me pay an extra £4 for dessert? Which, by the way, was the nicest part of the meal. Apple crumble and custard was to a good standard. Overall, 3 out of 5. Also, I just want to say that there was a distinct lack of vegetarian options on the menu (I gave the roast beef from the lunch to my dog). Poor!"
