Reviews of Nan's Thai Malaysian Cafe
"Just visited this recently today around 19:10. The food arrived in under 5 minutes. The curry isn’t a curry. It’s curry flavoured water with limp, soggy frozen vegetables. The boiled rice mushy and sticky, instead of fluffy and loose. The tofu was the only thing that was edible. I had a 3 spoonfuls of the rice and ate all the tofu, as I hadn’t eaten all day. I wish I could of complained at the time but the waiter didn’t care to come round to ask “how the food was”, or notice my signalling at all. I sat there staring at the dreaded plates for almost 25 mins. I just decided to cut my losses and pay for the “food”. And decided to go home and cook for myself. Give this place a miss. I don’t recommend it, which is a shame. I thought that with the 5 star google reviews it would of been a better place, sadly it isn’t. My friend liked his pad Thai though, he said it was nice."
"Been here several times before but this time round I got a Nasi Goreng, my go to meal. Love the generous portion and the student friendly pricing. Recently however, the quantity of chicken/prawn has gone down and I can only put this down to the rising cost of living. 4.5/5."
"Had a very nice meal here. Spring rolls were really good and big choice for vegetarians and vegans. Also good service. Some of the food was a bit intense on the soya sauce and salt front though. We also tried two different banana puddings. The deep fried bananas were really good. Not heavy even though they were battered. The ones with in a coconut milk soup were ok but the milk was way too sweet for m. All in all a great little place and excellent value for money. Very good value for money."
"A lovely Thai/Malaysian restaurant. Close to uni, not very big with interesting vibe&decor. Good selection with a cheap price. The portion was not big. The curry my friends had were pretty good, a bit watery but tasty. The fried rice I ordered was flavoury. Considering the price it was worth the money. Spacious, clean and tidy restaurant. During our visits at different time, we realised they might have new owners but they kept the same name and business. They had new menu, new foods but their foods are as good as they always are. Tasty southern Indian foods, good selections at a good price. You can talk to the staff to get plant-based foods and I like the variety I had in my cuisine."
