"We had Sunday lunch here today and it was great. The food was really good, and it was fun to bring the fine dining/tasting menu concept to a Sunday roast. We particularly enjoyed the vinegar butter and the lamb/pea/mint course. Good selection of cocktails on the menu. The service was brilliant: a really friendly and attentive team added to the experience. Very much deserving of a Michelin Guide recommendation, so it's a shame it didn't make it this year. One suggestion: too many potatoes were served with the beef: as part of such a large meal, I think a couple of less potatoes per bowl would be absolutely fine (you could always offer extra if required). Good playlist too!"
"The taster menu was a great mix of different tastes and flavours. Staff were excellent and the setting is lovely tables not to close together so not too noisy. We were here for our sons 21st and couldn't have been a better choice. The joy of a taster menu, aside from variety is that you have a full 3 hour evening of chat, food and drink. I opted for the drinks pairing too which really did complement each dish perfectly. Wonderful service, beautiful attention to detail and even the background music was fantastic. "Visited last night to treat Mum for her 60th Birthday and it was fantastic. The food was superb and service excellent. Mum was given a signed menu which was a lovely touch and even the freshly made lemonade was a hit!!!! No fiddly portions here, by the end I was stuffed! The Octopus was my favourite dish but the dessert (I really dislike tarragon) had me digging to the bottom for more, and it was huge!!! Thank you Chef Jono and the team at V&V, we had a wonderful meal and I would highly recommend"
"The food was very interesting. It wasn't quite up to the standard of some tasting menus I've had. The textures were quite samey. Lots of very tasty pastes. I feel like Jono is cashing in on his new found fame, but if he wants the restaurant to be in the upper echelon he will have to take everything to the next level."
