"Great atmosphere, good food, friendly staff. Ordering on the app caused a 30 minute delay on just our drinks, another member of our party ordered at the same time on the app and had finished their mains by the time we received our drinks, after we received our mains. This was down to a mistake by staff, yet when I questioned the wait on the drinks I was told by member of staff he will sort it, on 2 occasions. This did not get sorted until I had to go and wait at the bar for a third time and speak to another member of staff. Quite irritating when get ignored for a simple request and the staff member carries on serving at the bar making drinks for other orders. Unfortunately this has put us off returning, however, I do believe it was a one off mistake. The pub is very nice, food was very nice as were all other members of staff, just one member didn't seem too bothered about helping with our drinks. When ordering on the app, it asks if you would like the starters with the mains or as a starter. I did select with the mains however these were brought out as starters so the app may need attention? Again, food was good, not a long wait despite being quite busy. But the issue with the drinks, it's understandable mistakes do happen, this could have been resolved when I questioned the staff, instead of seemingly being fobbed off ruined our visit. Not sure if it's because I'm not a regular but it did indeed ruin our visit and so will not be returning any time soon."
"Went for the breakfast with Santa, and found ourselves very disappointed. Thankfully our little one is only 3 so he enjoyed it but it was a very poor effort. Start time was 10am, we wrongly assumed we’d be able to go in a little earlier, which wasn’t an issue, however doors opened between 5 and 10 minutes after this time and we were stood outside in the cold with 2 young children. No one showed us how the morning was supposed to go (I.e. which menu, how to order, do you go to Santa or do you get called forward) so just went in and had to work it all out ourselves. Food and drinks ordered, we received the wrong drinks and when I flagged this the lady was a bit rude telling me that she said which drink she brought to the table (I had ordered but wasn’t there when it came) and asked if we wanted it correcting. Food came and we received an adult portion for the kids breakfast (even though I was clear it was the kids portion we wanted), thankfully our little one managed to eat most of it but I’d rather he got an actual child portion. When I worked everything out at the end (no receipt given) I’d been charged for the wrong drinks (more expensive but no refund of over charge offered) and the adult breakfast so it looks like the person taking the order wasn’t paying attention (no question raised as to the 3 adult breakfasts at a children’s event). We had almost finished eating before Santa even turned up and this was hands down the worst looking Santa I have ever seen! Nice enough guy but it’s like the North Pole were busy so they ordered this one from Wish. The guy was nice enough but he hadn’t shaved his black stubble which was poorly obscured by what was essentially a sheet of white felt. It looked like it had been either made by kids at a primary school or bought at a (really) cheap fancy dress shop, I’m surprised my 3 year old bought it! The icing on the cake was when he got a drink, and the (only) elf - who’s outfit was a much better quality by the way - stood in front of him, while lifted the sheet of felt beard to take a sip. Thankfully my little one was facing the other way so no illusions shattered this time. There was no organisation on visiting Santa, anyone could have walked in and got a free gift and a chat with the man. The gift bag wasn’t too bad, though maybe next time remove the £1.99 B&M sticker from the toys. The food was ok, pretty much as expected although some temperatures a bit inconsistent (i.e. cold beans, warm sausages). We ordered extra toast which after a fair while, we had to get up to ask where it was (came out straight away but unsurprisingly, cold). In summary, this was an awful experience, though thankfully (and somehow) my 3 year old seemed to enjoy it (though that could have been the enormous portion of breakfast waffles he’d wolfed down)."
"Nice little pub. The food is nice and has a small selection of cocktails."
"Very disappointing. I had fish & chips here today & the chips were awful (like thick oven chips). The salt cellar was congealed & totally bunged up, so I had to remove the lid to get anything out! All in all not a very pleasant experience & I will be in no hurry to return, let alone order any food."
"Came in today for some snacks after a walk round Worsley. First let me say…. The staff in here never disappoint they’re so welcoming to both me and my children every time I come in. The foods lovely as always, service can’t be faulted. Sat with the children and they come over to see if they’d like any colours and stuff. They speak to you in a friendly manner and the whole atmosphere is so relaxed it’s just a good vibe. We only had snacks today but we often visit and I’ve never had an issue with food. Because my daughter wanted some of the nachos but doesn’t like the sauces they even delivered them separate and then only put cheese on half of them for us - nothings too much trouble. Can’t wait to visit again for a roast!!"
