Reviews of Ban Di Bul Korean Restaurant
"The atmosphere was calm and friendly. The hotpot was placed on a gas ring in middle of the table with a chimney above to extract the steam. The noodles, mushrooms, meat and tofu cooked within the hotpot as we ate it. It was our first time and will return."
"Most meats are nice. Beef tongue is nice. The beef meat can be a bit chewy. Sauces (gochujang?) are nice and spicy. As with marinated meats, they taste great but as you cook them, a lot of moisture comes out so make sure you spread them out, flatten them and cook them a little longer. Pork belly was also okay nothing special. Service is good as they helped us to get a new grill plate when there was too much char after cooking the meats. Tables for six people are somewhat quite small so make sure you only allow room for the food. Can be claustrophobic... Darker atmosphere as you go further in the building so it can be hard to read. Bit of the salad was a bit dirty/wilted but just rip them off and they are fine. Dolsot bimbimbap was nice as the rice had a nice crispy texture to it. Must eat it with the seasoned meat as it may be bland. Seafood udon noodles had a nice texture and sauce according to friends. I thought it was okay but I didn't have much of it."
"Three of us went for an early-ish dinner on a Saturday night. The staff were fine but a little underwhelming but the food and the experience was great!!!! We had a selection of different meats on the BBQ. It was tasty, fun and a great way to spend a couple of hours."
"Went with a friend as a walk in for two. Ordered the bbq platter 28 pound pp. Minimum 2 people. The waiter a young man who looked very unhappy served us. No hello, Pleases or thank you. Just order and went. The food was nice. A novel experiance. However bout half an hour in the young man waiter and a lady staff member got into a spirrited debate. With the yound man getting more and more upset looking. It devoloped into a shouting conversation / argument across the restaurant. Trying to get the bill while this went on was hard. Finally a service charge on a cook your own bbq of 10%. That was hard to swallow. Wont be coming again to be honest."
"Another lovely Korean restaurant in town. Love their KimChi pancake, bibimbap and spicy Korean beef soup. We re-visited this Korean restaurant after two years. They have improved significantly. Their foods were delicious. The highlight of the meal was actually the KimChi pancake. It was crisp outside and had lots of kimchi inside the pancake. Bibimbap was good too, served with a piping hot stone bowl! Perfect for keeping the food warm at this temperature. The only comment is their staff were not attentive. They brought us, two of the same dish, and we had to pay for. They even forgot our drinks. Minus the service, it was a fabulous restaurant with delicious Korean food."
