"Lovely atmosphere with lovely accommodating staff who really made you feel at home. Prices are fantastic, food was also great. We tried the croquettes, arancini and caprese salad to start which were all very good. A couple of pizzas for main which were good but could have more flavour (hence the 4* and not 5). Wine also was very good. Will definitely be coming back."

"Casa Pipino is a rare find of a residential Italian restaurant. Simple inside, not many tables, really well executed food, excellent value for money and extremely attentive staff. I really liked it here...however, for me, there was a down-side. I say this with the utmost respect, but the Pizza Capricciosa (Calzone) that I ordered didn't have any flavour or really taste of anything. It literally left me wondering if my taste-buds were on the blink. Olives, ham, cheese, egg, tomato sauce..all usually do the trick - but I was getting no real flavour here whatsoever. A real shame because it was beautifully cooked. Perhaps this is due to the low cost of the ingredients used in order to meet a budget. I really don't know. At just 9 quid - it was a bargain...but I'd have happily paid double if it had packed some serious Italian punch."

"Distinctly average food, it's actually 3.5 stars as it is a nice homely premises with exceptional service. I have been to Italian restaurants all over Italy and the UK many times and I am a big fan of italian food. The food here was very well presented and the seemed fresh in every way but the flavours just were not there for me. The tomato sauce was very bland, there was no tartness, the pizza dough too was very plain. The waffle tasted like it was out of a packet and just heated up. That too was ok, just not brilliant. The service was great we were nicely looked after by our host."
