“I recently needed an extraction (in the end it was an extraction and a coronectomy). It was complicated to arrange because I hoped to have sedation but had been advised I should not delay the extraction for fear of an abscess developing. So I had some tricky decisions to make and because of my job, it was difficult to arrange phone conversations to discuss it. The procedure itself, I understand, was also more complex than the average extraction. I have been a patient of Philip's for many years and have always been very happy with my experience. Philip has been a fabulous dentist for me, always patient, always honest and realistic in assessing my dental needs, and always very supportive when I've been nervous, and always amazingly skilled. The most recent filling he did for me, feels like an original tooth! But the treatment I needed recently was much more challenging for me than anything I had needed before and the support I received from every member of the practice with whom I communicated, was exceptional. Liliana was patient, kind and very helpful in a telephone consultation (when I understand she had covid). When finally I had the treatment, she was superb -reassuring, confidence-giving, patient, kind and extremely competent. She has been generous with her time helping me through the following days and weeks when all did not go entirely smoothly. Every member of the admin and nursing team was helpful, patient, sincere, knowledgeable, understanding and committed to finding me the support I needed - from info, to helping me think through options, to arranging drugs at short notice, to arranging phone calls and always following through on commitments made. I am very grateful for the fabulous treatment and support I have had from the practice! Thank you.”

“I moved to the Mermaid practice a couple of years ago after a recommendation, and have been extremely happy with the treatment to date. I’m 65 and so have experienced quite a few dental practices over the years, I can honestly say that Mermaid is the best I have come across … by a long way. Mr Abrishami has the very latest and best equipment and, together with his whole team at Mermaid, gives a highly skilled and professional service. He always takes as much time as is needed to talk through the options and to make sure I’m completely comfortable with what is being proposed. I recently completed a fairly long procedure, an implant that required a bone graft. I was naturally nervous but, from start to finish, I was given explanations and reassurance. Each step of the treatment (from my perspective) was done with absolute skill and professionalism. The dental nurse at each stage was Amber, she was professional, competent and caring, and despite normally being a nervous patient, I never felt concerned throughout the whole process. The procedure is now complete, my new tooth is in place, and I am absolutely delighted. I am shortly moving house, two hours away from the area, but I will remain a patient with Mermaid … well worth the drive!”

“Dr Harris has been our dentist for several years and my children actually laugh when they are in the seat, the practice has such a relaxed and professional atmosphere, they would have no reason to fear visiting. I recently decided to take the plunge and have six month smile braces fitted. I cannot believe the difference after only 3 and half months. The braces should be off in 6 weeks, one month ahead of schedule and I will have the straight teeth I have always wanted. I would definitely recommend Neil and his team for both regular dental care and any cosmetic dentistry you might be considering.”

“Start to finish I was in A&E on a Tuesday afternoon for 2 hours 30 minutes. I saw a few nurses and two doctors and everyone was lovely and made the whole experience really easy and reassuring. Problem was found and drops given straight away. Something to be aware of: you might not be able to drive home because of the eye drops so make alternative arrangements.”

“Thought I’d update as it’s a little confusing where this is.  Bath Childrens centre (Parkside) is immediately right as you come out of the Charlotte Street Exit of the Charlotte Street Car Park.  It is next to Heritage Group Travel and not further back in the car park.  It’s a bit difficult down the narrow path if you have a wheelchair or buggy, but reception staff are lovely.  The rooms inside are light and airy and there are toilet and baby changing facilities quite near the secure entrance.”

“After suffering with shoulder pain for four years I went to see Mr McCann and he very quickly diagnosed the problem. He then carried out the operation and I've been thrilled with the results. I'm now pain free and am undertaking physio to regain full movement. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr McCann.”

My little girl is always happy to go as she has had good experiences every time she's been, even having bloods taken. The ladies were amazing,she didn't even cry, she was happy as well because they gave her stickers and a certificate. “I received such Amazing care whilst staying at the Spire, I can’t rate the team highly enough. Everyone did everything they could at all times to make sure I knew what was going on and what my options were. The anaesthetist, Nick (don’t know his surname sorry) was so lovely, he was kind and informative and helped me understand everything my body was going through. The post op recovery nurse, Andy Newman was very kind, he stayed with me and spoke to me whilst I felt poorly and made sure my husband knew how I was getting on. The nurses Percilla, Seema, George and Robyn were all really attentive and always made sure I was being looked after perfectly. Carly, the physio was perfect and helped my confidence in what my body could do. My surgeon was Mr Eastaugh-Waring; who in my eyes is the best out there. He’s not only very talented but helped me know what my limitations are going to be for my training lifestyle. The whole team are just brilliant and I can’t thank them enough.”
