Tangalooma Wrecks
Welcome to Tangalooma Wrecks, a fascinating tourist attraction located just north of Tangalooma Island Resort in Queensland, Australia. The wrecks are a cluster of ships that were intentionally scuttled by the Queensland Government between 1963 and 1984. These ships now provide a safe anchorage spot for recreational boat owners on the eastern side of Moreton Bay. Over the years, coral has started to form in and around the wrecks, creating a haven for over 100 species of fish. If you're lucky, you may even spot dolphins, wobbegongs, and dugongs while exploring the area. A total of 15 vessels were sunk, with five in 1963, five in the 1970s, and another five in the 1980s.
