Lake Dardanelle State Park
Lake Dardanelle State Park, located at 100 State Park Drive in Russellville, Arkansas, is a popular tourist attraction and outdoor recreational area. The park features a Visitor Center that is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. One of the highlights of the park is the free swimming area at the beach, although there is no lifeguard on duty so visitors are advised to swim at their own risk. The Yell County Day Use area is open year-round from January to December, with hours from 8 a.m. to one hour after sunset, seven days a week.
Old Post Park Campground
Old Post Park Campground, located at Old Post Park Road in Russellville, Arkansas, is a popular camping destination at Dardanelle Lake. This campground offers 37 reservable campsites with water and electric hookups, making it a great choice for families and parties. The park also features a playground and multiple picnic areas for outdoor fun. Situated between the Ozark and Ouachita National Forests, Dardanelle Lake provides a beautiful setting for nature lovers. The lake, fed by the Arkansas River, spans 40,000 acres with 315 miles of shoreline surrounded by a variety of hardwood trees. Boating and fishing are popular activities, with a boat ramp available for easy lake access. Additionally, soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, and a biking trail starting at the campground offer plenty of recreational opportunities.
