University of Montevallo Cycling Office
β OpenThe University of Montevallo Cycling Office is a premier institution located in Montevallo, Alabama, United States. The university will field a collegiate cycling team starting in fall 2023, with a new home trail close to the campus. The team will have access to a premier course with a bike shop, wash station, and storage and work areas for each student-athlete. The program is led by Head Coach Jennifer Nichols, who brings a wealth of experience and certifications in cycling coaching. All members of the UM cycling team will be offered scholarships, and the central Alabama climate allows for year-round riding. The university is close to highly rated courses such as Oak Mountain State Park and Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park. Dr. Shawn Mitchell, an associate professor of health and human sciences, helps organize the cycling program and utilizes the university's exercise physiology lab for conditioning programs.
