Welcome to the Lloyd Library and Museum, a world-renowned independent research library and exhibit space devoted to bringing science, art, and history to life. Located at 917 Plum Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Lloyd Library and Museum is considered one of the city’s treasured landmarks.
Established by the visionary Lloyd brothers—John Uri, Nelson Ashley, and Curtis Gates—in the late 19th century, the library has its roots in their pioneering work as pharmacists specializing in botanical drugs. Today, the Lloyd Library and Museum continues to honor their legacy by holding, acquiring, preserving, and providing access to an extensive collection of both historic and contemporary books, journals, and archival materials. "Cool little museum tucked away in Cincy. Their main use is a research library for the history of medicine & medicinal plants. They have a small exhibit space with a seasonal exhibit. Staff was all friendly & helpful. Parking is limited."
"I love it here. I didn't think much about plants until or mushroom until I found this place. I've learned so much in the 3 months I've been going here. The staff here are incredibly sweet, and every exhibit is so engaging. If you like plants, mushrooms, bugs, or medicine, come here. Holy cow! Also I feel like I never have enough money for their gift shops, because there's so much there I like. The art in these books alone is worth the trip much less everything else from the information itself, and all their events. My list of books I want to read from there is ever lengthening. Go check it out, it is amazing!"
