"This covered bridge was one of two spans that were originally built in Middletown OH in 1867-68 It was reassembled here in 1966. It is 120 ft. long utilizing Wernwag trusses"

"Country setting. Lovely, very attractive park. Multiple log buildings to visit in season. Small campground with electric. Trails. The covered bridge is very interesting because it is the only Wernwag Truss know to me. The truss has double Burr Arch supports and original floor. The floor has planks that are twenty inches wide in places. The exterior wood is in excellent condition. The roof is covered with wooden shake shingles. Great covered bridge. The Governor Bebb Park Covered Bridge originally spanned Indian Creek on Fairfield Road, west of Oxford, Ohio. It was relocated in Governor Bebb Park in 1970 by the Butler County Park District. The bridge is 118-feet long and was origially buit in 1892. The bridge is constructed of white pine and has a Wernwag truss. This Wernwag truss is the oly Wernwag left in the United States. Wernwag incorporated a double burr arch in the truss and it encases a version of a kingpost truss. The Wernwag truss has often been recognized as just a kingpost truss with a burr arch but my records indicate that the Wernwag truss is seen here at Governor Bebb Covered Bridge. More information on trusses still in existance in the United States today can be found in a book, Covered Bridges Today by Brenda Kekeler 1989 and in the World Guide to Covered Bridges by The National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges, Inc."
