Originally built in 1873, The Harvest Barn is steeped in history and charm. Its story began when the Homan family emigrated from Herbern, Germany, and settled in Maria Stein. The barn was constructed by another family after a fire and was later purchased by Joseph Homan in 1888. Over the years, the barn has been lovingly maintained and expanded, retaining its unique character with hand-hewn beams and historic architecture.
Featured in Joyce Alig's book, "The Big Barns of Mercer County," The Harvest Barn is one of the few barns with two threshing floors, a testament to its rich agricultural past. Today, it stands as a beautifully restored venue, blending modern amenities like central air and heating with its timeless rustic elegance.

"The Harvest Barn is a magical secret on Olding Road in Maria Stein. The capabilities for any size party or wedding is phenomenal. Andrea is amazing to work with. The fact that the barn has air and heat makes it perfect no matter what season and the wheelchair accessibility with all the unique designs makes this an amazing photo opp. Did I forget to mention the bridal suite to get ready and the Men's Lounge! I hope not, they are two of the coolest spaces to meet the needs of the full party!"
