About the Business

Lake County Planning Commission

Welcome to the Lake County Planning Commission, a dedicated local government office located at 125 East Erie Street, Painesville, Ohio. As an official government organization, our mission is to serve the community through strategic planning and development initiatives, while ensuring secure communication and information sharing via our .gov website.

The Lake County Planning Commission plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Recently, Lake County was awarded $1,631,830 in HOME-ARP funds to address the housing and service needs of our community’s most vulnerable populations. Through the HOME-ARP Allocation Plan, we aim to support qualifying individuals and families, providing essential housing and services.

Our Planning Commission meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month, with agendas available seven days in advance. We encourage community involvement and welcome public participation. For more information, please contact us at 440-350-2740 or via email at [email protected].

Our Commission is comprised of dedicated officers and members, including Chair Rudy Veselko III and Vice-Chair Amy Cossick, alongside a team of representatives from the five Lake County townships. This diverse group ensures balanced representation and effective decision-making for our community.

The Lake County Planning Commission also oversees the Housing Rehabilitation Program, funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This program aims to improve housing conditions for income-eligible families through emergency repairs, mobility and accessibility modifications, and full single-family home rehabilitation. Additionally, CDBG funds support economic development, public improvements, and a range of public services, benefiting low- and moderate-income individuals.

We invite you to explore our website for more information on our programs, upcoming meetings, and community resources. Join us in our mission to foster a thriving, inclusive community through thoughtful planning and development.
