"The reason I am giving U-Haul a two-star rating on a trailer rental is not due to the poor customer service at the Ace Hardware where I rented it from. I specifically am giving U-Haul themselves a 2 star rating when renting a trailer due to the fact that they give you no option to have a toll pass when passing tolls. For every toll I passed which was a large amount of them in New York state I was given an additional $1 fee on top of the toll by charged by NY state. There is no way any longer to stop and pay tolls, so I was charged a citation fee in addition to the toll fee, which ended up being more than the toll itself. This is a huge problem for U-Haul as it would appear to extort money from the customer who has no other way to protect themselves, such as a toll pass or anything like that with the trailer. Obviously if you are not given an opportunity to stop and pay a toll any longer, then it is not fair to charge a customer a penalty of $1 additional per toll when they didn't even have an option. Anyway just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone renting a trailer who drives through tolls, specifically New York I drove through a lot of them on my way up and was charged $44 in tolls from U-Haul on top of the tolls that I was billed for my truck. To give you an idea, the tolls that I paid on my truck were only $18.20 total, and the tolls for the uhaul trailer totaled $44. So, renter beware!!"
