About the Business

Rock Creek Falls Trailhead

Welcome to Rock Creek Falls Trailhead, a scenic park located at 2565 Rome Rock Creek Road, Rock Creek, Ohio 44084. Nestled within the beautiful landscapes of Ashtabula County, our trailhead serves as a gateway to the Western Reserve Greenway, a picturesque 50-mile paved rail-trail that meanders through both Ashtabula and Trumbull counties in northeast Ohio.

The Western Reserve Greenway offers a unique opportunity to explore the serene rural charm of Ashtabula County, with 33 miles of the trail winding through lush wooded areas and alongside expansive farmlands. Visitors can enjoy the cool shade provided by the thick tree canopy, making it a delightful experience even on hot summer days.

Our trail is meticulously maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone. Along the way, you’ll find benches, clear mileage markers, and 12 interpretive signs that highlight the rich history of the Underground Railroad in the region. For added safety and convenience, our volunteer bike patrol is available to provide information, assistance, and maintenance support.

Since its inception, the Western Reserve Greenway has been a collaborative effort, supported by various community partners and grants, including significant contributions from the Civic Development Corporation of Ashtabula and the Ashtabula Foundation. Thanks to these efforts, the trail was officially opened on July 15, 2002, and has continued to expand, providing a vital link in a nationwide network of hiking and biking trails.

We invite you to explore the natural beauty and historical significance of the Rock Creek Falls Trailhead and the Western Reserve Greenway. Whether you’re walking, biking, or skiing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. For more information on places to stay and other activities in the area, please visit the Ashtabula County Visitors Bureau at [visitashtabulacounty.com](https://visitashtabulacounty.com/places-to-stay/).
