Welcome to Van Wert Soil & Water Conservation District

Located at 1185 Professional Drive, Van Wert, Ohio, the Van Wert Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a dedicated local government office committed to promoting sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship within our community. With a rich history of service, the Van Wert SWCD recently celebrated its 75th Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the Van Wert Farm Bureau at the Ag Banquet.

During this event, we conducted an SWCD election and welcomed Elliot Callow and Brett Schumm as newly elected members to our Board of Supervisors. They will begin their three-year terms on January 1, 2025. We also honored Wyatt Friedrich as the recipient of the SWCD Scholarship and recognized Dustin Schaadt with the prestigious Conservation Farmer Award for his outstanding contributions to conservation efforts.

The Van Wert Farm Bureau also celebrated its achievements and awarded its scholarship recipient. Additionally, Farm Focus was inducted into the Van Wert Ag Hall of Fame for their numerous agricultural accomplishments.
