"There is no way to get in touch with anyone one any phone numbers for dhs…Blount county Dhs phone goes straight to call center which you will sit on hold for hours and if you are lucky enough to get a live person, they will only ask you what county you live in, so they can put you on hold again for hours. I have taken screenshots. I have called everyday this week and after hours and hours each day on hold….IYS NOW FRIDAY AND NO WAY TO CONTACT ANYONE About l MY APPLICATION. I JUST ADDED A FAMILY MEMBER TWO MONTHS AGO AND THAT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE DUE TO THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING I SENT THEM THRU THE WEBSITE. I was asked to send info by three different people during the two weeks of trying to add my grandson….each one had different info and at one point I was told I have a phone interview on June 5th that ended up being incorrect. It is a total train wreck!!!! So much for the info I have been given on most all Dhs papers and website…YOU CAN GET FOOD STAMPS IN 7days if you have less than $100, etc , etc….I have less than $10 and due to recent illness, I am temp taking care of my grandmother that is very ill 24/7. This is such a sad situation and I will also admit that it’s just as bad if you have children AND work…this is not just a recent issue. This has gotten worse monthly for past year atleast. I see that no one is ever responded to after a review either. I am sure they do even care what is going on. After 4pm they are no longer on the clock"

"I took 2 disabled persons there to apply for Snap (food stamps) benefits on May 26, 2023. Both are Not capable or able to work and live solely on a disability check. They are both Still waiting on the applications to be processed and it is now July 17, 2023."

"I'm pregnant and got approved for snap almost a month ago and hadn't received my card yet. Was asked to wait the necessary 10 business days for my card to show up in the mail, and if it hadn't showed up to call back. Call back when it doesn't show up and have left multiple messages. Still haven't received my card. I'm so happy everyone in that office has food to eat, since they don't give a flip about anyone else. If I could give y'all zero stars, I would."
