"Overall, we found this church welcoming and the service quite enjoyable. After the lengthy message, we did leave with a minor suspicion that we were wretched sinners who still had a great deal of repenting to do. The hymns were mostly familiar and mostly in tune. It is clear that the pastor and his congregation are very committed. Given the Covid "crisis" that has shuttered many a more liberal church, this place appears to be thriving. The two large TV screens in such a small, mostly traditional sanctuary did seem a little out of place...although some people might find the screening of hymn numbers etc. helpful. There was also a 5 minute broadcast on the screens about faith. It was theologically sound and well produced but just not the same as a personal presentation. Generally, Baptist preaching seems to center around conversion and the invitation to accept Jesus. Ironically, a unsaved person would tend to stay out of church on Sunday... so the preacher is literally preaching to the choir. Rather than being cajoled about our human lack of holiness and all that it entails, I would personally like to see more practical advice on spiritual practice and growth. There was one seemingly minor but important omission. The only place the time of the Sunday morning service is published is in tiny letters on the outside notice board. It does not show up online or even on the telephone answering message. We guessed it might be at 11:00, and luckily happened to be right. When the service finished at 12 noon, we've never seen a church empty out so quickly. These good folks may have beat the Methodists to the cafeteria; but the first shall be last and the last shall be first...evidently has not yet been the subject of a sermon."

"I have learned over the past couple of days some disturbing news. This church is being used as a testing site for a public high school, including the ASVAB test. I say that the public needs to be aware of this. Also, students were removed from their school campus without any parental knowledge. Should lies, kidnapping, and war be things a church should condone?"
