"Recently I went to the cemetery and noticed that they have some areas staked. Use caution around the staked areas because there are old wire fence remnants. A few years ago there was no visible indication whatsoever where the people were buried. There's a lot of fallen brush and fallen trees, so it's difficult to walk around to even look for any signs of their markers. If there are any markers at all. It's very sad that the first people of Muskegon are treated this way. All but forgotten when they are the ones who made this town what it is today."
