Welcome to Mount Vernon Community Church – Black’s Chapel, located at 1800 West 4th Street, Mount Vernon, Indiana. As a vibrant place of worship, we strive to be a loving family of believers who warmly welcome everyone into our community of faith. Our mission is to share the “Good News” as taught in Scripture to help grow God’s kingdom. We believe in praising God through prayer, worship, song, and by being the “hands and feet” of our Lord Jesus Christ, enriching our lives as we each discover our purpose.
Our church community is dedicated to using our strengths to connect with people, sharing God’s love with families who seek hope, faith, and acceptance. Since our adoption of this mission on October 18, 2017, we have been committed to making a positive impact in our community and beyond.
Join us every Sunday at 10:30 AM for worship. Upon arrival, feel free to pick up a bulletin and enjoy our snack table, offering coffee, hot and iced tea, and delicious snacks. If you cannot join us in person, our worship service is broadcasted live on Facebook and remains available for future viewing.
We are excited to introduce our new pastor, Troy Dekemper, whose sermons are sure to inspire and uplift. If you are searching for a church home, we invite you to come worship with us this Sunday.
Additionally, we proudly participate in Mt. Vernon River Days, where 100% of the profits are designated to Jim Reese. We look forward to welcoming you into our community and sharing in the joy of faith together.
