As an ABOS board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Colanese brings a wealth of expertise and a comprehensive range of services to Northwest Indiana. Since 2019, he has been a vital part of the Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, offering innovative and patient-focused treatment options. His clinical interests encompass joint reconstruction, including total hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, total ankle replacement and fusion, surgical fracture care, foot deformity correction, tendon and ligament reconstruction, and arthroscopy. Additionally, he provides a variety of nonsurgical treatments for musculoskeletal conditions.
An Indiana native, Dr. Colanese completed his undergraduate studies at Earlham College and earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He further honed his skills with an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an advanced foot and ankle reconstruction fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Colanese is committed to delivering the highest quality care using the latest methods and techniques. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing golf, exercising, and attending Immanuel United Reformed Church in DeMotte.
