"I engaged J.H. in St. Marys for my 2021 tax year, due to having sold a home, which was a tax situation I wasn't comfortable dealing with on my own. Long story short, they neglected to submit a required schedule with the submission of my tax return, and a year later, I got a nasty-gram in the mail from the IRS, telling me the sale of my home wasn't disclosed! I went back to J.H., where Bonnie (after complaining about having to drive 17 miles to the office, and complaining about how slow the computers at the location were) went over my return, and said they were correct, and that there's nothing they can do for me, because I didn't buy their pricey insurance option. Wait. Isn't that why I paid you 'professionals' a good sum of money? For your purported expertise in tax preparation? If a professional tax preparer prepares my return, why, prey tell, would I need to buy insurance? Hindsight is 20/20, but I could've done the returns myself, saved the couple hundred bucks that I paid J.H., and then still would've wound up paying a local CPA to fix their mistake. What a terrible experience all around. Be very wary if you go to them for any out of the ordinary tax situation. You may wind up getting a notice from the IRS like I did and spending needless extra money like I did."
