Welcome to the Church of the Ascension
Located at 3717 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware, the Church of the Ascension is a vibrant and welcoming place of worship that warmly invites everyone to join us in faith, community, and service. As a cherished part of the Episcopal tradition, our church is blessed with a historic building and an active congregation dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, especially among young people.
Worship with Us
Our Sunday Services, featuring the Holy Eucharist, take place at 9:00 am and are available both in person and via live-stream on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. We strive to create a worship experience that blends the rich Episcopal tradition with contemporary spirituality. Our services are inclusive, encouraging all attendees to participate fully, share Christ’s peace, and partake in communion.
Community and Outreach
At the Church of the Ascension, we believe in being active participants in our broader community. We support numerous outreach projects, including the Claymont Community Center’s Food Closet. We welcome donations of non-perishable food items, as well as hats, scarves, gloves, and socks for our Giving Hut, which serves our neighbors in need from November through March.

We are always in need of volunteers to assist with various roles during our services, such as Communion Assistants, Greeters, Ushers, and Livestream Assistants.
