"My 20 year old daughter saw Dr Stackhouse on 3/20/24 after seeing another clinic doctor on 3/13/24 after her GI symptoms were not improving. Basically he told her more of the same on that visit and she called back to the office about a week later asking to be referred to a gastroenterologist. Dr Stackhouse would not refer and wanted to see her in the office again! So on 4/8/24 she went back to him and he Basically told her more of the same on the third visit and would NOT refer her even after telling him she had noticed blood in her stool and her symptoms were NO BETTER. (For backstory she already has an auto immune disease ). I was unable to go with her on that visit . I was furious that he would not refer her after three visits to the clinic and we were asking for a referral. After she called me when she left I called back to the office and spoke with the nurse and basically had to get very firm about wanting a referral . The nurse was finally able to get him to refer her and fast forward to the Gastroenterologist appt in which he ordered labs and a colonoscopy.(Also on a side not the GI doctor had no notes or anything from Stackhouse when we arrived .) Her labs showed Her celiac antibodies positive and he ordered an endoscopy along with the colonoscopy to confirm the diagnosis . We just got the biopsy results back and my daughter was confirmed for celiac disease! Had I not advocated and INSISTED that we be referred to a specialist we would still be without answers and being dismissed by Dr Stackhouse! I do not for the life of me understand a doctor that won’t refer a patient with her history and being told there was blood in a stool! Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. Thankful for my daughter knowing her body and that we advocated for her health! So today my daughter starts a gluten free lifelong diet. Advocate for your health and your families. Do NOT take being dismissed by a doctor!!"
