"We've used South Shore Roofing twice in two years for two large projects, and it's been an excellent experience both times. Last year we needed a new low-slope roof for our back porch/sunroom, and we called South Shore based partially off the recommendation of our handyman. Because of the great work they did, when we needed new asphalt shingle roof on the rest of the house this year, we went with them too. Here's the three things that set South Shore apart for me: 1) No pressure. There were no high-pressure sales tactics. There was no hurry to sign. Both times we've used South Shore, they did their inspection, talked through what they saw and what they'd do to replace it, and very specifically told us "This is a big expensive purchase for your home, talk it over and get back to us whenever you're ready." Some other roofing companies would give us an estimate, then lower it as an incentive to "sign today" as soon as we said we needed some time to think about it and get other estimates. Like, how did your costs change that much in 20 minutes? South Shore was the exact opposite of that, and I respected that a lot. 2) Great communication. They were the only folks we got an estimate from who insisted on getting into the attic to inspect the roof from the inside as well as outside. Everyone else only got on the roof, but they took the extra step of checking for leak spots and documenting everything from inside too. This helped when it came time for the added costs -- they were able to give us a pretty accurate estimate beforehand on how much extra wood they'd need to replace rotten and warped panels. With emails, calls and texts, they were always on the ball letting us know how things were progressing. 3) Price. They were competitive on pricing with everyone else we got estimates from for both jobs. Especially for the asphalt shingles on the rest of the house, they came in well under every other company's estimates, even with the added wood that needed replacing. Because of how good the quality of their work seems to be, I was kinda expecting them to come out the highest of all our estimates, but it was the opposite. I will recommend these guys to everyone in Statesboro who needs a roof replacement or repair."
