"I used to take the T here as a teenager in the 80s, buy a record for about 8 bucks (or maybe 2 7"s for 3 bucks each), then spend my train ride home scrutinizing every aspect of it. One very hot day I fell asleep with my elbows on my lap and woke to find I had bent my new Descendents album, which then sounded like My Bloody Valentine. The last time I was here was like 25 years ago and it was only one floor. Now it's 3! What does a store like Newbury Comics do when almost everyone is streaming music digitally? Expand the comics, get more T-shirts, decor, and toys, and go back to vinyl. I love that they still exist, but I don't know why records cost like 25-60 bucks for a slab of plastic and some paper sleeves. Whereas vinyl was simply the only medium to get music from the punk bands I liked in the 80s, you've really got to be a collector nowadays to justify spending so much on something you can cheaply stream. I want Newbury Comics to continue to exist, but I'd say they may need to keep stretching to stay unique. Still worth a visit."

The staff was pleasant and helpful from Pop, manga , comics, pop culture al there is sure to be something to satisfy your curiosity at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend, if for no other reason not to enjoy this place."
