About the Business

Napier Field Town Hall

Welcome to Napier Field Town Hall, your local government office located at 400 Headquarters Street, Dothan, Alabama 36303. As a cornerstone of our community, we strive to serve the residents of Napier Field with dedication and transparency. Please note, DO NOT PAY THROUGH DOXO.COM as the Town of Napier Field is NOT affiliated with this service.

Our town has a rich history, having been established as an Army Air Forces Training Center at the onset of World War II. This historic site trained American, British, Mexican, and even women pilots for crucial flying missions in Europe. Here, pilots mastered flying P-40s, famously adorned with vibrant parrot head designs. Though the base officially closed in 1944, its legacy remains, and in the 1950s, the property was opened to the public. Many of the original buildings still stand today, though they have been modernized over the years. The Town Hall itself was originally the Army Headquarters and also served as an elementary school.

The Town of Napier Field was officially incorporated in September 1968, and in 1974, part of the old Army runways became the foundation for the Dothan Regional Airport.

Our leadership team is committed to the community, led by Mayor Thomas "Buddy" Skeen and supported by Councilmembers Charles Klein, Greg Seay, Bill Day, Marlin (Prince) Petersen, and Alice Gay. Our Town Clerk, Traci Ballard, is available to assist with any inquiries.

Napier Field Town Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We welcome you to attend our council meetings, held on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m., which are open to the public. If you wish to address the Council, please ensure you are on the agenda by contacting the Town Clerk during regular business hours.

We look forward to serving you and continuing to build a thriving community together.

"A lot of history in this town"

"Called about a water meter leak issue, they sent someone out to diagnose the issue and instead of fixing it or contacting me about the problem they just turned off our water. Now my wife nor myself can shower, give our plants and pets water or use the restroom in our own home. I'd rather not have to use the restroom in my toilet without flushing or go a full day without showering in my own home."
