"Enjoyed visiting First Baptist Wedowee Sundsy school and corporate worship service while in Wedowee for a weekend getaway with my wife. Appreciated the pastors candidness in addressing the subject of anger from the sermon on the mount. However, I do believe there is a place for displays of righteous indignation for a Christian and believe it is unhealthy to get out of balance and believe that being a peacemaker only involves covering over faults of others. That balance was not addressed at all. Also, I appreciated the warning given before partaking of the Lords Supper, However, the warning is to repent lest we bring judgment on ourselves. Never does the Bible give warrant for a pastor telling a believer to not take the Lords Supper. We are not bringing a gift to the alter. We are celebrating the gift Jesus died to secure for us. Of course repentance includes purposing and endeavoring to make things right with our fellow man as soon as possible, as far as it depends on us. However, our works demonstrate true repentance. We are made right with God and thus partake in a worthy manner upon repentance. I would liken what the pastor said to telling a truck driver to not pull over at a checkpoint. The discipline that the Lord.brings upon His children is good. We should try to avoid it by taking in a worthy manner. However, partaking of the Lords supper is a continuing profession of our faith. To not partake is to deny our faith. Unfortunately, I've heard numerous pastors teach the same as the pastor at FBW. I believe they are going beyond scripture and misleading people. Again, the Apostle Paul never tells people in 1 cor. 11 not to partake, he simoly says if you do partake in an unworthy manner, you will be subject to stern disciple, possibly death. Jesus does say if you do not eat if my blood and drink if my flesh, you have no part in me. I would rather have physical death and eternal salvation rather than physical health and eternal separation."
