Dr. Pletka brings a wealth of experience from his tenure as an Assistant Professor at SUNY-Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, where he trained Orthopaedic residents and Hand Surgery Fellows for six years. During this time, he also served as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Upstate University at Community General, leading a team of over 20 surgeons. His extensive surgical experience includes nearly 3,000 procedures, ranging from complex shoulder reconstructions to hand replantations, as well as routine surgeries for the upper extremities.

Dr. Pletka completed his Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the prestigious Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, recognized by the United States Congress as “the National Hand Center.” His expertise has been sought by professional athletes from teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Washington Nationals. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Pletka completed his Orthopaedic residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital, renowned for being the top NIH-funded institution for Orthopaedics.
