Originally situated at the corner of Levin and Thomas Streets, the house was relocated in 1969 to its current location to save it from demolition during the construction of West Memorial Boulevard. This move was part of a pioneering restoration project by the Newport Restoration Foundation (NRF), showcasing early preservation efforts that have shaped the city's urban landscape.
The Alexander Jack Jr. House is a testament to meticulous restoration, involving the creation of a new foundation and the careful restoration of its historical features, such as the decorative fanlight doorway and period windows. The project also included the restoration of interior and exterior woodwork, with decorative millwork crafted from original patterns, and the reuse of old bricks for the chimney.
