As part of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department's extensive network, our park is dedicated to creating and maintaining clean, green, and safe open spaces for the community. Spanning over 2,300 acres of parkland throughout Boston, we offer a refreshing escape from the urban hustle.

Our department oversees an impressive array of recreational spaces including 217 city parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and much more. Whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely day outdoors, explore our historic Emerald Necklace, or participate in community events, Mothers Rest provides the perfect backdrop.

Join us for family-friendly activities, such as free movies in the park, or immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of the Tito Puente Latin Music Series during the summer months. For a unique experience, visit the Alianza traveling beer garden, brought to you by Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation.

"Yes this is a nice quiet park, but there is always glass every where which is not safe for kids and someone should be cleaning the park especially when they weather starts to get nice because a lot of local children play here !! CLEAN THE PARK PLEASE !! If you’re child is playing in the park please make sure they are wearing shoes that cover their feet"

"Beautiful view. Buses and main st traffic make it difficult to enjoy. The hill and rockiness makes it impossible to ride bikes or enjoy a picnic. Great for a quick stop and a rest and maybe water if biking."
