Reviews
"I love the book by Robert McCloskey Make Way for the Ducklings and I think it’s awesome that they have the statues of the famous ducklings and Mrs Mallard in the Public Gardens. Make sure to stop here and get a picture of your child sitting on one of the ducks."
"One of my favourite sights in the Park. Make Way for Ducklings Statue in Boston Common The Make Way for Ducklings statue in the Boston Public Garden is a charming and delightful sight. Based on Robert McCloskey's beloved children's book, the statue captures the hearts of visitors young and old. Installed in 1987, the bronze sculpture by artist Nancy Schön depicts Mrs. Mallard and her eight ducklings—Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack—waddling through the park. An interesting fact is that the book, published in 1941, was inspired by the real-life journey of a mother duck and her ducklings through Boston’s busy streets to the safety of the Public Garden, guided by a helpful policeman. The statue sits on a beautiful brick and cobblestone path, adding to its quaint and picturesque setting. It's a popular spot for children to climb on and for families to take photos, symbolizing the welcoming and playful spirit of the city. The story behind the statue and its representation of family and perseverance make it a significant and endearing landmark in Boston. Overall, the Make Way for Ducklings statue is a must-visit in the Boston Public Garden, offering a delightful blend of literary history and whimsical charm."
"Beautiful park! Walked over from my hotel after being in doors for meetings. Even though its chilly out, I enjoyed sitting on a bench watching the bustle of people passing by. The lake, the flowers and trees, the ducks and squirrels, great place to just stop the madness and breathe!"
"An incredible sculpture with some adorable characters. This is a must see site when exploring Boston. This is a fun sculpture to stumble across when exploring Boston common but do have it on your list of things to see."
