Welcome to St. James Street Park
Located at 39 Saint James Street, in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, St. James Street Park is your gateway to a world of natural beauty and outdoor enjoyment. As part of Boston's expansive network of parks, we are dedicated to creating and maintaining clean, green, safe, and accessible open spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Our park is just one of the many green spaces managed by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, which oversees 2,346 acres of parkland throughout the city. This includes 217 city parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and a host of other recreational spaces. We are proud to be part of a community that values the preservation of nature and the promotion of outdoor activities.
St. James Street Park is a perfect destination for families looking to enjoy a day outdoors. We offer a variety of amenities and activities, from playgrounds to scenic walking paths. Throughout the summer, you can enjoy free family-favorite movies and the vibrant Tito Puente Latin Music Series, which brings the lively sounds of Latin music to our parks in July and August.
In collaboration with Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation, we are excited to introduce Alianza, a unique traveling beer garden experience right here in the city. It’s a perfect way to enjoy a refreshing drink while soaking in the beauty of our parks.
For those interested in exploring Boston's rich history, we also manage three active cemeteries and 16 historic burying grounds. Our commitment to maintaining these spaces ensures that they remain respectful and serene places for reflection and remembrance.
Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings are being held online. We are committed to transparency and community involvement, especially when it comes to decisions about our city's trees and green spaces.
We invite you to explore St. James Street Park and discover the joy of Boston’s beautiful outdoor spaces. Whether you're looking for a peaceful spot to relax, a fun-filled day with family, or a cultural experience, we have something for everyone. Come visit us today and see why Boston's parks are a cherished part of our community.
