Lufkins Brook Conservation Area

"Very nice, but a very small parking area where I parked. Also a lot of the trails are very overgrown and probably very riddled with ticks this time of year."

"A small hiking area; limited roadside parking. Some lovely swamp views. The trails were blazed at some point, but they have fallen into disrepair. The primary trails are easy to follow, but some areas are flooded, and some blocked by tree fall. There didn't seem to be a loop; the trails I followed all led to paved roadways along the edge of the conservation. Quiet."

"It appears that resources are flooding into the Lufkins Brook CA judging from the new entry signage and foot bridge, which is nice. Unfortunately you cannot currently circumnavigate the pond as per the online trail map. Beaver dams may account for some of the trail closures, but north of the pond I couldn't find any means to cross the brook. Be advised the only viable parking seems to be on West Street despite the indications on the trail map. The 133 traffic is pronounced and can be distracting if you're sensitive to such."

"Super not traveled. Trails are not marked and it's kind of creepy back there. I once got attacked by a Goss hawk back there that chased me out for over a half mile. My kind of place."
