"Garrison Keillor was great. Otherwise, if you were going to film "Children of the Corn" this is the setting I would recommend. I have never felt so unwelcome anyplace in my entire life! We drove 1.5 hours for this and, upon arrival, found ourselves directed down a two lane dirt road and onto a hilly lawn to park while dozens of other cars were directed to several other more desirable locations. But that was just a start. The setting is a charming late 1800's church. The seats are the benches in boxes of the time. Lovely, really. Bathrooms for visitors like me were port-o-potties outside. What? As we tried to get into our seats there was a little jostling and some people stepped purposely ahead. No "Excuse me" or eye contact or smiles. Nothing. Wow. Leaving was worse. No one. That is, not one person stopped to allow us leave. At the Reception in the basement the snubbing was worse and more apparent. New Marlborough, MA, a town less friendly I've never been, and I've travelled considerably."
