KUNGFU KITCHEN 1353 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02446

"Kung Fu Kitchen is a new restaurant in the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline. I came here during the weekday for lunch, but it was still decently packed. The location has a modern but minimalistic feeling to it, with bright white walls and big windows to let natural light come in. The service was good, they served us very quick and brought the food out within a timely manner. We tried the Scallion Pancakes with Beef, the Soup Dumplings, and the Shanghai Pan-Fried Pork Buns. The Scallion Pancakes with Beef were good, but the meat portion was a bit small, with one of our pancakes not having any beef at all. The Soup Dumplings were wrapped nicely and the soup wasn't too oily. The Pan-Fried pork buns were a good size and had a nice flavor to it. The prices were decent for the options. Overall a good place I'd return to again."

"Great food, great service. Super authentic. Efficient kitchen staff. Makes one yearn for a trip to China, which is one of the best compliments I can make about a restaurant. Right in the middle of Coolidge Corner, so you have a wonderful neighborhood to check out for desserts, cafes, bakeries, both an independent movie theater and a book store, grocery stores, parks, and dispensaries"

"Soft opening on 7/8. New Asian restaurant in Coolidge Corner, specialized in dumplings, steamed, pan-fried, soups, and more. Flavor overall was good. Dumpling fillings were well-seasoned and flavorful. Shrimp and pork dumplings were always good. Soup dumplings were good, lots of flavorful soup inside. The only thing I wouldn't get again the scallions pancake beef wrap. Not really much beef inside, and nothing special about it. Get yourself a taro puff for dessert if you are a taro fan."

"Dined here for the first time and general impression is good, some dishes were fairly good and others not so much. Interior has been redone from the Six Po hot pot that was here previously and it looks and feels great, very clean and comfortable. The pan fried egg/chive bun has very good flavors but the skin had an undercooked texture. The steamed pork dumplings tasted good with a good deal of soup inside. The taro buns were our favorite. They were well made, not greasy, crispy on the outside and not too sweet. The spicy beef noodle soup was only mildly spicy and broth was thin. It lacked flavor and the noodles, I felt, were undercooked in the thick part and overcooked in the thinner part, making the texture strange when chewing. I wouldn't get this again but will try the dry noodles that have a sauce on it, which might have more flavor. We were disappointed by the scallion pancake with beef. The pancake was a bit greasy, which was expected, but there was only 1 small thin slice of beef wrapped inside. Service was fine. Our waiter was efficient and the server that brought the food was friendly and always had a smile. He asked how we liked the food each time. This new place is a good addition to the neighborhood."

"So delicious! We got the pork soup dumplings, stir fried hand-cut noodles with roast pork, and Peking duck buns. These three dishes were outstanding and it’s hard to pick a favorite- I don’t know where else to find Peking duck buns in Brookline so that was perfect. Dessert was taro buns— one of my favorite desserts I’ve ever tried! Made to order and so yummy. We will definitely be coming back!"
