"I had been a customer for over 10 years but after a couple of rude exchanges with the woman at the counter, I've taken my business elsewhere. There were two incidents. The first one, I thought they lost my clothes, and I went back to check on it. I was nice about it because I honestly did not remember if I got all my articles of clothing. I worked in the service business so I am particularly careful not to jump to conclusions or lay blame on anyone without investigating. Instead of being polite in return, this woman got very defensive and said it wasn't her fault. Turns out it was my bad and I had the clothes all along, but she was very condescending to me on my subsequent visit even though I was nothing but unassuming. The only reason I kept going back was because they were so close to home and did a decent job of cleaning. Fast forward a few months, they actually lost two clothes - my work uniforms. Again, I was nice about asking, but attitude was awful! The same woman brought up how it was my fault the first time and I couldn't even get her to look at the rack because she was all heated. I was floored that her first instinct was rude and argumentative rather than assistive. She reluctantly took my number so she could call me but I knew she just wanted to get me out of there. I was wrong one time, but they were wrong the second. The point is, I was kinder to that woman than she was to me in both instances. After spending HUNDREDS of dollars a year for over 10 years, how about showing a loyal customer a little respect and appreciation? All she had to do was say "I'm sorry this happened to you, let me see if I can help you find it" and I'd still be a customer. Instead, I got a ton of smack. Now I drive further to another cleaners, and I'd only go back if they re-hire better customer-facing staff."
